DOM PERIGNON Oenothèque 1959

Dom Pérignon information : THE MOUTH: The maturity of the grapes radiates opulence without heaviness. The warm and full attack, quite sweet, introduces a powerful architecture. Very round mouth, exceptionally long, with fat and fruitiness. A surprising freshness on the finish. THE NOSE: Great complexity with notes of oriental tobacco, honey, liquorice and fig, as well as coffee and chocolate. THE 1959 HARVEST: The harvest began on September 10 in conditions rarely so lenient in Champagne. Everything was combined to make this vintage a vintage par excellence.

Dom Perignon

Dom Pérignon is a legendary vintage champagne in France. In 1668, a young monk Dom Pierre Pérignon, moved the mission to create the "world's best wine". Such ambition revealed in this young monk thirty years ago, a visionary and extraordinary audacity. The engagement of Dom Perignon is that all the Champagnes must be produced only with the harvest of the same year.

The productions of Dom Pérignon were very popular at that time. When Dom Pérignon died, the price dropped somewhat, but not its popularity. The 1921 vintage is unquestionably the best vintage. Dom Pérignon champagnes are very long aging.
