Wine Enthusiast January - 2008

The fruit has become the main attraction here—layers of ripeness, tempered with an elegant smoothness. The tannins are certainly present in this powerful wine, but they are here to lend support, not dominate. With herbs and very clean black fruits, this is a wine to follow.

Jean-Marc Quarin September - 2023

Dark, intense, beautiful and uniform color. Intense, refined nose with ripe fruit. Delicate on entry, flavorful in the middle, with class in the texture, the wine melts on the finish, long, meticulous in its grain, even if a touch of austerity remains in the persistence, which I consider positive. No need to rush.

Adrian van Velsen - vvWine
Open-hearted, matured to perfection, immensely fragrant, with tobacco, herbs and a ripe cherry fruit. Creamy and round on the palate, the tannins are well integrated, the fruit still present. Long, ripe fruity finish.

There is a slightly bricking to the color as the wine matures. Tobacco leaf, currants, cedar, and garrigue create the nose. Silky, supple, and seductive on the medium-bodied palate, the fruit is soft, ripe, and fresh, with dusty tannins in the finish. Drink from 2022-2045.

Shows mineral and blackberry aromas, with hints of licorice. Full-bodied, with soft, silky tannins and a long, smoky, earthy, meaty and fruity aftertaste. Long and stylish. Very refined and beautiful.

Red berry fruit, spicy, but attractively plush. Very smooth, rich, coffeeish with quite lithe fruit and tannins. Very nice sweetness, open and attractive but quite light and attractively structured.

Falstaff May - 2006

Strong ruby garnet, violet reflections, broad rim lightening, inviting red berry compote on the nose, fine wood spice, delicate hint of honey. Substantial on the palate, fresh acidity structure, powerful tannins, fine dried fruit touch on the finish, medium development potential. The best Brane in a long time.

Tasted blind. Still some blue in the crimson. Slightly simple Cabernet aromas. Thick and sweet start. A little bit plodding but no shortage of density. Stolid. Not especially refreshing.
