Cellar Tracker March - 2019
Cellar Tracker
This is a long lived vintage especially for Cabernet Sauvignon (around 40%) and this turned out to be an enjoyable drink over a few nights in classic style. Drink or hold.

Adrian van Velsen - vvWine
Medium garnet-ruby, still a beautiful shine. Initially a somewhat closed nose, hints of rubber, tar, smoke, also a touch of marzipan, with more air crushed red berries, very beautiful complexity. On the palate firm, juicy, red-fruited on the attack, some tannin and clearly noticeable acidity, the fruit however on the retreat, the alcohol well integrated, all in all very juicy and surprisingly fresh and balanced. Perhaps a touch too rustic, but with good structure and still some reserves (though unlikely to improve further). On the finish rather short but harmonious, ends with a slight malty note.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The spicy, ripe, mineral and curranty bouquet is followed by a wine with medium body and good grip. Approachable now, and evolving more rapidly than I would have thought possible several years ago, this elegantly wrought wine remains bargain priced for the vintage.

Château Du Tertre

Château du Tertre is an 80-hectare wine estate located in Arsac Margaux in Gironde. In the Médoc AOC, it is classified as a fifth growth in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification. The vineyard of Château du Tertre consists of grape varieties comprising 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.

The vines are 40 years old on average. In 1997, Dutch businessman Eric Albada Jelgersma purchased the Du Tertre estate where he made significant investments to restructure the entire property. With its exceptional terroir and rare homogeneity, Du Tertre's vineyard is now recognized as one of the highest quality potentials in the Margaux appellation. While modernizing the Du Tertre property, Eric Albada Jelgersma and his team have maintained traditional methods, thus combining innovation with tradition.
