Wine Spectator December - 2025
Wine Spectator
Sleek and minerally, with chiseled acidity defining flavors of crushed white raspberry, wet chalk, lemon thyme and blanched almond. Harmonious overall, with the refined mousse softening the impact of the firm structure. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Based on the 2021 vintage and disgorged in November 2024, Philipponnat’s newly released NV Brut Rosé—the successor to the Rosé Royale Réserve—derives its delicate color and vivid red-fruit character from a blend that incorporates 6% still red wine and a rosé de saignée component sourced from ripe grapes grown in Clos des Goisses and Les Riceys. It soars from the glass with notes of wild berries, brioche, cherry and honeysuckle. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a generous core of fruit, succulent yet vibrant acidity and a perfumed, delicately grapefruit-inflected finish.

Almost dapper, the pink pressed starched-cotton pertness of the fruit – but it's seriously stylish too, underneath the coquettish squirl.

Philipponnat

Founded in Aÿ as early as 1522 and established in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, the house of Philipponnat produces vinous and precise Champagnes, dominated by Pinot Noir, from the Champagne appellation and Grand Cru classified terroirs. Its monopole Clos des Goisses, the first enclosed vineyard vinified separately in the region, encapsulates its spirit: terroir, structure and long ageing potential.

True to its perpetual reserve and measured dosage, the house crafts gastronomic cuvées that stand the test of time. Among its greatest years, 1996, the 2002 vintage, the 2008 wine, 2015 and the 2020 wine illustrate the balance between vinosity and freshness.
