Disgorged in June 2023, the 2014 Mareuil-sur-Aÿ Extra Brut is a 100% Pinot Noir sourced from vines planted in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and vinified in barrels. It evokes notes of a deep, complex, intense bouquet with aromas of nuts, exotic fruits, mango, pastry, ripe orchard fruits and honeycomb. Medium to full-bodied, it’s broad, vinous and fleshy, concluding with an intensely mineral, saline finish.

Very attractive floral character with notes of cherries, peach skins, dried flowers, cream, praline and spices. Medium- to full-bodied, concentrated but delicate with silky mousse and vivid acidity. Dense and compact structure with a delicious, sleek mid-palate. Even and lengthy with a nutty creaminess at the end. 100% pinot noir. 4.5g/l dosage. Disgorged June 2022. Drink or hold.

Philipponnat
Founded in Aÿ as early as 1522 and established in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, the house of Philipponnat produces vinous and precise Champagnes, dominated by Pinot Noir, from the Champagne appellation and Grand Cru classified terroirs. Its monopole Clos des Goisses, the first enclosed vineyard vinified separately in the region, encapsulates its spirit: terroir, structure and long ageing potential.
True to its perpetual reserve and measured dosage, the house crafts gastronomic cuvées that stand the test of time. Among its greatest years, 1996, the 2002 vintage, the 2008 wine, 2015 and the 2020 wine illustrate the balance between vinosity and freshness.
