This firm rosé Champagne is tightly meshed and chalky in texture, marrying rapierlike acidity with finely woven flavors of apricot, biscuit and orange blossom. Offers a clean-cut, zesty finish.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 2007 Extra Brut Rosé Premier Cru 1522 was disgorged in September 2017 with 4.5 grams per liter dosage. Revealing an inviting bouquet of mandarin, warm bread, honey and red berries, it's medium to full-bodied, chalky and tensile, with a racy spine of acidity and less flesh on its structural bones than the superb 2008, concluding with a mineral finish.

Andreas Larsson - Tasted
Medium deep rosé colour with a copper hue and rather youthful "mousseux". The nose is generous with some creamy notes, fresh bread, butter vanilla citrus and fresh red berries. The palate has medium weight, with sour red fruit notes like red currant and cherry, soft and creamy mousse with a refreshing acidity, generous fruit and rather long finish with an approaching complexity.

Philipponnat

Founded in Aÿ as early as 1522 and established in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, the house of Philipponnat produces vinous and precise Champagnes, dominated by Pinot Noir, from the Champagne appellation and Grand Cru classified terroirs. Its monopole Clos des Goisses, the first enclosed vineyard vinified separately in the region, encapsulates its spirit: terroir, structure and long ageing potential.

True to its perpetual reserve and measured dosage, the house crafts gastronomic cuvées that stand the test of time. Among its greatest years, 1996, the 2002 vintage, the 2008 wine, 2015 and the 2020 wine illustrate the balance between vinosity and freshness.
