Tom Cannavan January - 2017

The Dom Ruinart Rosé is a blend of 80% Chardonnay with a very high proportion - 20% - of Pinot Noir vinified as a red wine in the blend. It is extremely toasty (surely there's some barrel fermentation here?) with a wonderfully expressive, autumnal Pinot quality of small red fruits and truffle. On the palate the serious, toasty and earthy structure continues to express itself, with great concentration, a persistent mousse and a thrust of lemon-fresh acidity as the Chardonnay dominates. I loved this, and most of the tasters were just as convinced.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Disgorged in June 2014 with 5.5 grams per liter dosage, the 2002 Dom Ruinart Rosé includes 20% red Pinot Noir from Sillery and Verzenay. Unfurling in the glass with aromas of brioche, mirabelle plum, dried orange rind and fresh pastry, it's full-bodied, broad and gourmand, with a creamy mousse, delicate phenolic grip and excellent balance. This is one of the finest renditions of this cuvée that I've tasted.

This is subtle up front, with delicate aromas and flavors of pink grapefruit granita, pickled ginger, spun honey and biscuit. The smoky underpinning of minerality gains momentum, riding the lacy mousse to a fresh and persistent finish. Drink now through 2027.

From a great Champagne vintage, this rich, full-bodied wine is just beginning to develop secondary flavors, toast and walnuts. The red fruits are fading into the background, while keeping the acidity in place. It is ripe, well balanced and has a delicious, long aftertaste. It is ready to drink.

Evolved, pale tawny pink with very, very slightly more blue than the 2004. Heady and cleaner/smoother on the nose than its pair. Lightly creamy and savoury – more integrated, fresh and successful than the vintage two years later.

Were it not for the pale pink hue and the lovely aromatics of ripe peach, one would easily mistake it for a Blanc. Appears fully mature, elegant and delicate, noticeably more mature than the last tasting of this wine.

Ruinart
Champagne Ruinart is a Champagne House created on September 1st, 1729 in Reims by Nicolas Ruinart, the nephew of Benedictine monk Dom Thierry Ruinart. It is one of the oldest Champagne houses still in operation, after the Gosset house, founded in 1584. Champagne Ruinart is a prestigious champagne house at the origin of the "RUINART taste" which is characterized by finesse, elegance and distinction. Champagne Ruinart: A House that through the centuries and its successors has always prioritized the culture of excellence, conveyed by the fundamental values of authenticity, openness, refinement and quality... This pursuit of perfection is notably illustrated through the dominance of Chardonnay, which is used in the composition of the entire Ruinart range and the prestigious Dom Ruinart cuvées, like a golden thread that magnifies the champagnes. Chardonnay illuminates all these cuvées, enhancing their brilliance and giving them this very particular fluidity that makes them recognizable among all others. So many characteristics perpetuating over time the culture and art of living of Ruinart, which today stands as an aesthete of champagne throughout the world.
