Jean-Marc Quarin
(2-2006) Dark red color, intense and beautiful. Moderately aromatic nose, pure, fruity, smoky and without animal notes. On the palate, the wine is incredible! It appears more flavorful, fuller, juicier and finer than the 2000. In particular, it shows no tannic rigidity in the finish. Quite the contrary, it melts with great charm and finishes long, with a creamy mouthfeel and fine tannins.

(1-2006) Open, confident, classical, terroir-dominated nose. Neat rather than mind-blowing. Very delicately balanced and lively. Transparent. So different from most St Emilions! Very dry finish with lots of minerality. Real life and zest and no hint of oak or over-ripeness. Long.

Medium-bodied, it emphasizes aromas of bright red, spice, earth, damp forest, and a hint of mint. The finish is sweet and light, but the red cherries are sweet and fresh.

It exudes a certain elegance, with notes of tobacco and cedar, as well as sweet black fruits. Good quality. Fresh on the palate, still quite extracted, but ripe and dense, with a lovely plummy roughness and good length.

The aromas of the wine express the nuances of the Figeac terroir, with its delicate notes of black fruits and truffle. On the palate, the substance is intense and the structure of the tannins underlines the typical tradition of Figeac, recognizable among the great wines of Saint-Émilion.

Château Figeac
Château Figeac

Château Figeac is a Bordeaux wine estate located in the commune of Saint Emilion. Premier Grand Cru Classé of the official Saint-Emilion classification, it is one of the most influential châteaux of the appellation. The Château also produces a second wine: La Grange Neuve de Figeac.

Château Figeac wines have excellent aging potential.

The finest achievements are the 1961 vintage, 1982, the 1985 wines, grand crus from 1986. More recent Château Figeac vintages show more power, roundness and fruity notes, the 2000 vintage, the 2005 wines and 2009 are spectacular.
