(5-1999) Rich, with lots of character. Chewy St.-Emilion, featuring green tobacco, dried cherry and fruit aromas. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a chocolate finish.--1989 Bordeaux horizontal

Adrian van Velsen - vvWine
Strong ruby, showing initial maturity notes. Wonderful nose, displaying depth, complexity, an initially slightly lactic note transitions into aromas of tobacco, freshly grated liquorice, cedar, developing in the glass. On the palate ripe, round and with a rich fruit, medium to full body, the tannins are still very present, pulls through the mid-palate, becomes increasingly crisp, youthful, oscillating between warmth and freshness, maturity and youthfulness. Exciting and aromatically almost somewhat exotic in character, the wine lingers long on the finish. Definitely still has very beautiful reserves.

Opulent nose, typically Bordeaux (leather, stable), full in the mouth, round, min. tannin, no signs of age! Will definitely last until 2030.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Medium bodied, elegant, light in color and perhaps a bit light in fruit, still the wine delivers on the earthy, tobacco, floral, plum and cherry nose. On the palate, the wine is elegant and refined, with the patina of age in the texture, and in the finish. Popped and poured was the right way to go with this one.

Falstaff February - 2012
Falstaff
Strong ruby garnet, delicately ochre-tinged, subtle water rim. On the nose smoky-herbal spiced dark berry fruit, shiitake mushroom nuance. Juicy, powerful tannins that are present, some bitter chocolate, fine dried fruit note on the aftertaste, candied oranges on the finish, good food companion.

Looks much more mature than the 1990 just tasted. Mid ruby with rusty rim. Intense, sweet with sweet licorice. Sweeter, smoother and more tarry than the 1990. Long and rich with layered undertow.

Château Figeac
Château Figeac

Château Figeac is a Bordeaux wine estate located in the commune of Saint Emilion. Premier Grand Cru Classé of the official Saint-Emilion classification, it is one of the most influential châteaux of the appellation. The Château also produces a second wine: La Grange Neuve de Figeac.

Château Figeac wines have excellent aging potential.

The finest achievements are the 1961 vintage, 1982, the 1985 wines, grand crus from 1986. More recent Château Figeac vintages show more power, roundness and fruity notes, the 2000 vintage, the 2005 wines and 2009 are spectacular.
