Barnyard, chocolate, pomegranate green grass on nose. On palette, lots of depth, intensity, big mouthfeel. Tons of cassis, blackberry, barnyard funk, graphite, minerality. Big finish. Drinking perfectly right now.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
A wine of extraordinary intensity and accessibility, the 1995 Cos d'Estournel is a sexier, more hedonistic offering than the muscular, backward 1996. Opulent, with forward aromatics (gobs of black fruits intermixed with toasty pain grille scents and a boatload of spice), this terrific Cos possesses remarkable intensity, full body, and layers of jammy fruit nicely framed by the wine's new oak. Because of low acidity and sweet tannin, the 1995 will be difficult to resist young, although it will age for 2-3 decades.

DOCTORWINE : It is amazing how the color remains intact even 20 years after it was made. Cos d’Estournel’s is one of the longest living wines in the world and I have had the fortune of having sampled some that were over a 100 years old and were still good. The aromas are profound and stratified and the note that stands out the most is that of pipe tobacco, which is the wine’s trademark. This is followed by notes of leather, hawthorn and berries. The mouthfeel is taut, fresh and the tannins are gushing.

Gorgeous blackberry, toasted oak, Indian spice and light sweet tobacco on the nose. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a caressing texture. Pretty and refined. Holding back. Give it time.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Still quite firm in nature, as many 95 Bordeaux wines are, the wine is better on the nose with its deep boquet of cedar, wet earth, spice, red fruits and herbs. Bright and crisp, as well as somewhat strict steely and austere, this is much better for lovers of old-school classic Bordeaux.

Tannic and firm, this 95 Cos is classic St Estephe - dark, earthy flavors along with chewy tannins. Not a great vintage for Cos and one to drink now after a few hours of decanting to soften the tannins.

Dark color, of medium intensity and evolved. Discreet nose, evoking cedar. Soft, juicy, tasty on the palate, medium body and length with a woody background. It's this wood that makes me recognize Cos blindly.

Intense, lustrous ruby. Lifted aroma with just a hint of greenness. Still some chewiness but more concentration than many. Still quite a bit in reserve although there has been some attractive development. Big, sweet and bold – lots there.
