Château Cos D'Estournel

Château Cos d'Estournel is a 67-hectare wine estate located in Saint-Estèphe in Gironde. Cos d'Estournel is a Médoc AOC that is part of the Saint-Estèphe vineyard, and classified among the Second Growths in the 1855 Official Bordeaux Wine Classification. The grape variety composition is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and a few percent Cabernet Franc. The vines, spread across thirty plots and averaging 35 years in age, are planted in high density at 9000 vines/ha. Only plants over twenty years old will be used for the first wine. Cos d'Estournel also produces a second wine called Les Pagodes de Cos.

The greatest vintages are 2003, the 2000 vintage, the 1996 wines and 1995, grand crus from 1994. Finally, the 1990 wines, the 1986 vintage, the classified growths from 1985 and 1982 are exceptional.
