If multiple bottles are in stock, the photo is non-contractual and illustrates the condition of the bottle.

The 1969 vintage is very correct in Sauternes. Château d'Yquem 1969 is very successful, it has a powerful and very fragrant nose. The aromas of candied fruits dominate.

Delicate and floral, with seductive cream, lemon, apricot and pineapple character, this wine is delicious if just a bit tart on the finish.

Sweetish, light style, acidity propping it up.

(10/2019) Enormous surprise given the "small" vintage in Sauternes. The nose is powerful and highly perfumed. All the classic markers of old Sauternes can be found (candied fruits...). The palate is frank and supported by beautiful freshness. The aromas are deliciously patinated, old wax. Notes of quince, candied pineapple. An incredible length that goes on and on. A very beautiful memory.

Château d'Yquem
Château d'Yquem

Château d'Yquem is an absolute benchmark among great sweet wines and occupies a unique place in the wine history of Bordeaux. Located in the heart of the Sauternes appellation, the estate benefits from exceptional terroir and microclimate that favor the development of botrytis cinerea. In the official 1855 classification, Château d'Yquem obtained an unparalleled status by being consecrated Premier Cru Supérieur, a unique distinction among the grands crus classés.

The identity of Château d'Yquem is based on extreme rigor at every stage of production: very low yields, successive selective harvests and rigorous selection of grapes. Long the property of the Lur Saluces family, the estate has belonged to the LVMH group since 1997, which has chosen to preserve the technical independence and historical standards of the château.

In great years, Château d'Yquem produces legendary vintages, such as Château d'Yquem 1908, Château d'Yquem 1921, Château d'Yquem 1945, Château d'Yquem 1949, Château d'Yquem 1967, Château d'Yquem 2009, demonstrating an exceptional aging capacity that can extend over several decades, or even beyond.
