Jean-Marc Quarin April - 1997
Jean-Marc Quarin
Dark red. Good intensity. Lively. Clean. Discreet. Likewise. Not yet refined. Soft attack. Structure with a fairly fine touch, evolving fruity and flavorful, on a medium body, towards an enveloping finish, more in aromas than in substance. Medium persistence.

Falstaff October - 2012
Falstaff
Strong ruby garnet, delicately ochre-tinged, broader watery rim. Fine dark berry fruit, minty-ethereal nuances, a hint of cassis, attractive bouquet. Fresh on the palate, appears light-footed, already very accessible, red berry nuances on the finish, an uncomplicated food companion, equipped with some length.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The dark ruby-colored 1996 Pavie exhibits a pinched, tart personality with moderate quantities of red currant fruit in the nose, along with earth and spice. Château Pavie
Château Pavie

In Bordeaux, it is now established that it was on the slopes of Pavie and Ausone that the vine was first planted in the Saint Emilion region in the 4th century. However, it wasn't until the 19th century that Pavie's true wine-growing vocation truly took shape. At that time, the estate was divided among several families of owners, including the Tallemans and the Pigasses. In 1954, during the official classification of Saint Emilion wines, Château Pavie achieved the rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé B. The arrival of Gérard Perse at Pavie in 1998 would mark the beginning of a tremendous leap forward, now endorsed unanimously by the wine world. In 2012, Château Pavie obtained the top of the classification among the Premiers Grands Crus Classés A.
