Andreas Larsson - Tasted
Plenty of dark ripe fruit, cocoa bean, coffee, blackcurrant, blackberry and fine spices - the wine has an impeccable structure, purity, fresh, risp dark fruit, round, concentrated, immensely long finish, superb stuff!

Espresso, licorice, smoke, black and red currants, blackberries, and roses create the nose. On the palate, the wine is powerful, lush, full-bodied, rich, deep, and long. The fruits are sweet, ripe, opulent, flamboyant, and attention-seeking. They are also pure, fresh, clean, and intense. There are no hard edges at any step. The lingering finish al close to seamless. It is almost impossible to put your glass down without taking another sip. This is stunning. But as good as it is now, it is only going to get better over the next few decades. Drink from 2027-2050.

Intense color. Complex and deep nose. Pure nuances of fruit, cedar, cardamom. Very hedonistic palate where the wine advances by itself while melting, while offering amplitude, richness and a very long complex finish. A treat that you must open. www.quarin.com

Adrian van Velsen - vvWine
Luminous, dense ruby. Lactic and complex bouquet of dark berries, blackberries, cassis, light tobacco and a hint of chocolate. Immensely dense and very well structured on the palate, has a lot of power and shows distinctive but very high-quality wood, everything fits together well here. Top quality and great potential!

An immensely structured wine, packed with dark tannins promising aging potential. It is complex, powerful, layered with new wood and concentration, finishing with dark plum fruits and acidity.

Falstaff February - 2020
Falstaff
Dark ruby garnet color, purple reflections, delicate brightening on the rim. Candied orange zest, ripe dark berries, hints of blackberries and cassis, light precious wood savoriness, fine nougat. Powerful, full-bodied, ripe cherries, vivid, ripe tannins, chocolaty and persistent, mineral touch and savory nuances on the finish, chocolaty in the aftertaste, approaching its drinking window, one or two years of patience would still be good, a complex food wine.

Rich in extract, powerful, noticeable maturation notes, therefore more closed than other wines at this stage, yet with harmonious balance. Excellent bottle, definitely let it mature. Drink between 2018 and 2030.

Château Leoville Poyferre
Château Leoville Poyferre

Château Léoville Poyferré is a Bordeaux wine estate. Under the Saint Julien appellation, it is classified as a second growth in the official 1855 Médoc wine classification.

During the reign of Louis XIII, in 1638, Master Jean de Moytié, an ennobled Bordeaux bourgeois and counselor to the Parliament of Bordeaux, owned a vineyard planted on a gravel hill near the River. This gave the place the name "Mont-Moytié", following the custom of the time to designate a place by the name of its owner. The Mont-Moytié cru was part of these first historical growths of the Médoc, all born before the Fronde (1648-1653). The Médoc was then giving birth to its first parish growths.

This beautiful vineyard, originating from the former Léoville estate in northern Saint-Julien, is one of the best terroirs of the appellation and certainly the richest of the second growths. The 80 hectares planted with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc produce a deep and rich wine.

Château Léoville Poyferré produces elegant, very fine, balanced, and complex wines with intense color and velvety texture, which have excellent aging potential.
