Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Still youthful, the wine explodes with its nose of cherries black raspberries, smoke, flowers, spearmint, and thyme. Powerful, balanced, harmonious, and with a seamless finish that does not want to quit, this is off the hook!

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 1999 Cote Rotie La Turque reveals notes of toasty vanilla and espresso in addition to Asian spices, mocha, pepper, blackberries, creosote, and roasted meats. The exotic perfume is followed by a wine with phenomenal intensity, sweet, well-integrated tannin, huge body, and loads of concentrated fruit. It is a tour de force in winemaking. What is so remarkable about this cuvee is its tremendous layers of flavor, awesome texture, and perfect balance. This is an astonishing offering from one of the world’s greatest winemakers.

Perfection in a glass. On the palate, it delivers an abundance of classy, ripe, rich fruit married to toasted oak, floral notes, wet earth, humus and truffle notes. Full-bodied, seductive, smooth and balanced, but needs time to show it all.

Exceptionally deep crimson. Very sweet and intense on the nose. Heady, obviously oaky, but like an exotic, irresistible tincture. Round and worked and ultimately perhaps very slightly soulless but it is designed to give pleasure and it does. The tannins are very well managed. Round and broad but furled for the future.

Domaine Guigal
Domaine Guigal

GUIGAL vinifies and ages the northern appellations of the Rhône Valley in its cellars in Ampuis, including Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, and Crozes-Hermitage. The aging of the great southern appellations Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel, and Côtes-du-Rhône is also carried out in the Ampuis cellars.

The Hermitage 'Ex-Voto' is produced in the finest vintages, while the Saint-Joseph 'Lieu-Dit Saint-Joseph' in white and red, as well as the famous red Saint-Joseph "Vignes de l'Hospice", are true benchmarks for this appellation.

Among the jewels of Domaine Guigal are the must-have Côte Rôtie "La Landonne", "La Turque", and "La Mouline". Undoubtedly known worldwide, Rhône wine enthusiasts clamor for them. Some great vintages: 1978, 1982, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2003, 2005
