Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
As to three single parcel releases, I reviewed the 2010 Cote Rotie La Mouline earlier this year, but was more than happy to taste it again (lucky me) for this report. Incorporating a full 11% of Viognier and coming from the steep, terraced vines in the Cote Blonde lieu-dit, it sports a heavenly bouquet of spring flowers, incense, violets, cured meats and sweet cassis. Full-bodied, voluptuous and as seamless as they come, Syrah just doesn’t get any more alluring, sexy or impressive. Give it 5-6 years and drink bottles over the following 2 decades or more.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Powerful, thick, dense, rich, bright and concentrated with layer after layer of fruit, there is no denying the level of quality found here. But I have admit, my friends were right, there is no reason to open this for at least another decade! It is far too primary to really enjoy at the table today.

This smolders from the start, with Turkish coffee and warm ganache notes out front, backed by steeped currant, warmed fig and Black Forest cake flavors. The well-structured finish is layered with charcoal and mesquite notes, revealing bay leaf and chestnut details in the background. Offers terrific density, cut and range. Drapes like velvet despite the heft and structure. Best from 2017 through 2040.

Domaine Guigal
Domaine Guigal

GUIGAL vinifies and ages the northern appellations of the Rhône Valley in its cellars in Ampuis, including Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, and Crozes-Hermitage. The aging of the great southern appellations Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel, and Côtes-du-Rhône is also carried out in the Ampuis cellars.

The Hermitage 'Ex-Voto' is produced in the finest vintages, while the Saint-Joseph 'Lieu-Dit Saint-Joseph' in white and red, as well as the famous red Saint-Joseph "Vignes de l'Hospice", are true benchmarks for this appellation.

Among the jewels of Domaine Guigal are the must-have Côte Rôtie "La Landonne", "La Turque", and "La Mouline". Undoubtedly known worldwide, Rhône wine enthusiasts clamor for them. Some great vintages: 1978, 1982, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2003, 2005
