Château Grand-Puy Lacoste, Fifth Classified Growth in the 1855 Médoc wine classification. At the end of the 1970s, this grand cru from Pauillac was taken over by Jean-Eugène Borie, owner of Ducru-Beaucaillou, who entrusted the reins to his son François-Xavier. Since then, the estate has continued to gain in finesse and easily make a good fourth growth or even a third growth.
The castle produces a second wine, Lacoste-Borie. It is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and, of course, Merlot grapes. Château Lacoste Borie associates on the same label two well-known names in the Médoc viticultural, that of the Borie family, owner of several vintages, and that of Grand Puy Lacoste, cru classé of Pauillac. It represents in good years an interesting bottle for the amateur, whose wine can be drunk young.
The beautiful years of the Château Grand-Puy Lacoste: 1947, 1949, 1959, 1970, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1994, 2009.

Always beautiful, this full-bodied '88 shows terrific fruit character and racy, silky tannins that are wonderfully knit together. Thoroughly satisfying.
