Interesting to see the difference in the shape of the tannins with the 2005; this is a gorgeous wine but with slightly harder edges. Impressively fresh acidities that emphasisd crushed mint and eucalyptus, still with great juice through the finish. Proof again of how Grand Puy Lacoste overperfoms in challenging vintages. Classic, balanced, plenty of textured slate on the finish.

Château Grand Puy Lacoste

Château Grand-Puy Lacoste is a Bordeaux wine estate. Classified as a Fifth Growth in the 1855 Médoc classification, the Château has no less than hectares of vines.

The château also produces a second wine: Lacoste-Borie. It is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and of course Merlot grape varieties. 

The outstanding years of Château Grand-Puy Lacoste are undoubtedly 1947, the 1949 wines, the vintages 1959, 1970, and 1982. Finally, the vintages 1986, 1990, the 1994 wines and 2009 grand crus are excellent.
