A very refined red. One of the best Giscours in years. Wonderful aromas of crushed raspberries, blackberries and other fruits. Full-bodied, with very fine tannins and a long, caressing finish. All in finesse.

Cedar box and tobacco notes with firm tannins and quite a grip in the finish. Fully mature Giscours that is bringing drinking pleasure now with hint of dried fruit and leather in the finish. 40% Cabernet and 60% Merlot.

Rich and sweet and presumably here because the Berrys team stay at Giscours/Tertre during primeurs week. Resolved and easy and flattering. Light and toasty. Long.

Château Giscours
Château Giscours

Château Giscours is a Bordeaux wine estate located in Labarde in Gironde. Château Giscours produces wines under the AOC Margaux appellation. It is ranked among the Third Growth (Grand Cru Classé) in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification, and is one of the most important estates in the Médoc. The vineyard spans nearly 86 hectares within a 300-hectare property. Giscours thus continues the legacy of generations of winemakers, making this estate a world-renowned Grand Cru.

Note the existence of an impeccable second wine: La Sirène de Giscours.

The best vintages of Giscours are the 1945 wines, the 1961, 1982, and 1989 vintages which are excellent. Finally, the 1990 vintage, the 2000 and 2009 grand crus, as well as the 2015 vintage are among the Château's greatest achievements.
