Amber-gold colour. Aromas of apricot, foie gras, jasmine, honey, and peach. Medium-full bodied, medium-sweet, nutty, showing coffee, caramel, orange rind, and peach notes on the palate. Long finish, ~35-40s, with nuts, coffee, and orange rind. Really nice.

Château Gilette

Château Gilette is a Bordeaux wine estate. A 4.5-hectare property located in the heart of the village of Preignac. Château Gilette is a small Sauternes cru legendary for its old vintages. In the Sauternes appellation, it exclusively produces sweet white wines described as being the fruitiest in the Sauternes region. The grape varieties harvested there are (90%), (8%) and (2%). The harvest is done manually and the vines are approximately 40 years old.

The best vintages of Château Gilette are 1929, the 1959 vintage, the 1967 wines, 1987 crus and the 1989 vintage. Finally, the 1990 vintage is particularly excellent.
