Not especially deep crimson. Quite frail nose in fact! Hugely complex but decidedly ethereal. Just medium body and its undoubted charms are much more hidden than those of La Tâche. This is so young it's almost raw! Wild and insouciant, this is like everyone's definition of what distinguishes red burgundy with its unformed perfume and soaraway quality. But underneath it builds to a wonderfully complex finish. This is a wine that is all about the end of the tasting experience at the moment rather than the beginning.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
As usual, the Romanee-Conti is reticent at first, as if the wine is checking you out before deciding whether you are worthy. It then unfurls to reveal a precise, exquisitely focused bouquet with crushed strawberry, flint and smoke. The palate is devastatingly smooth on the entry. The tannins are lace-like, the acidity perfectly judged and it gently crescendos in the mouth towards a seductive poised finish that lingers incredibly long.

Brighter and more radiant color than the others. Fragrant nose, very complex and above all extremely refined. It has almost the same aromas as La Tâche, with added rose and violet, and a breathtaking ethereal dimension. Crystalline palate, all in textural sophistication, from which the body rises from the middle, the juicy character then a great fresh finish with a silky, finely mineral grain. Great persistence with a very airy touch. A celestial wine where the underlying qualities transcend the temporality of the vintage. A unique sensation, very difficult to express, very perceptible during immediate comparison. Happy are those who will be able to experience it!

Domaine Romanée Conti
Domaine Romanée Conti

The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is one of the most emblematic wine estates in Burgundy and an absolute reference among the great wines of the world. Its history is intimately linked to the greatest climats of Vosne-Romanée, of which it is the exclusive or quasi-exclusive custodian. The estate notably cultivates exceptional grands crus, including Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Grands Échézeaux, Échézeaux, as well as the celebrated Montrachet for white wines.

The Romanée-Conti, a climat classified as Grand Cru, forms the historical and symbolic heart of the estate. Owned by the domaine since the 18th century, this monopole vineyard embodies an exacting vision of wine, founded on precision, faithfulness to the terroir and extremely rigorous viticulture. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is renowned for its constant pursuit of balance and purity of expression, favoring very low yields and meticulous vineyard work.

Emblematic vintages such as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1942, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1964, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1985, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1986, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1990, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2000, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2005, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2006, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2011, illustrate the estate's ability to produce wines of remarkable depth, capable of spanning decades while maintaining an exceptional legibility of their origin. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti thus remains an essential reference for understanding the excellence and singularity of the great wines of Burgundy.
