(3-1990) A pretty good, at least very drinkable '78. Fairly swet, soft, chewy and ripe (there often seems to be a ripeness, even overripeness, fermier, particularly on the nose of Brane). Tannic finish but lots of character.
(11-2013) A gorgeous, mature Brane-Cantenac. Their wines from the 1970s and 1980s show how beautifully this wine evolves and in its youth, it is often under-estimated. A profusion of dried flowers on the nose with silky tannins and layered dried fruits and black truffles on the palate. Elegant, poised and perfectly mature.
