Double magnum. This wine impresses with its power and depth of flavor. Refined tannins. I'm not talking about bottles but large formats!

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Tasted at the chateau with Henri Lurton. This is another great, mature Brane-Cantenac that is drinking beautifully at the moment. Compared to the 1989 there is more maturity evident here with attractive notes of blackberry, wild hedgerow, sandalwood, mint and a touch of rosemary. With continued aeration there is a curious scent of menthol in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a typical ’86 rigid backbone. Yet it has wonderful balance, conservative and foursquare, sous-bois dominating the finish. For those with a penchant for the proverbial “classic” claret. Drink now-2020. Tasted April 2010.
