Medium-weight, medium-intensity, classic cassis and cedar aromas and flavor s, turning richer, more tannic and a bit tough on the finish.
The 1986 has wonderful opulence and fatness that is surprising to see, particularly in view of the tannic style of many of the 1986 Medocs. However, there is no doubting its ability to age well, as it has plenty of tannin. This full-bodied, impressive Brane-Cantenac displays loads of ripeness, and is deep and long on the palate, with excellent balance. Along with the 1983, this is one of the two best wines produced at the property since the 1961.
