Vertdevin April - 2019
Vertdevin
The nose is elegant, precise and offers a small aromatic power, a fine intense/incisif side as well as finesse. It reveals notes of ripe cassis, ripe blackberry and small notes of sweet spices associated with a fine dusty hint, Cuben pepper and very discreet hints of nutmeg, tea, a subtle hint of flowers (in the background) and an imperceptible hint of vanilla and underwood. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers a good definition, gourmandize, a beautiful precision as well as an acidulous/juicy frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/acidulous cassis, juicy/acidulous wild strawberry and small notes of small red berries associated with fine touches of violet, almond, exotic spices as well as a very discreet hint of Ceylan tea and a very discreet dusty side. Good length.

Lovely nose of new oak and creamy blackberries. Seems a little under-powered and maybe a little under-ripe on the palate, but a nice long finish suggests it has potential.

Medium-full bodied, the classically styled wine shows some herbal, leafy nuances along with its red fruits, cranberry and cassis. A bit stoic, the finish offers dusty tannins with its sweet and tart red pit fruits.

Adrian van Velsen - vvWine
Ripe ruby, orange reflections. Very Bordeaux on the nose, delicately spicy and with clear animal notes, leather, cherries, forest floor, very complex. Soft and accessible on the palate, very nice stage of maturity, medium body, creamy texture, the tannins have largely melted away, the acidity keeps the wine fresh, not highly complex aromatically, but very harmonious in terms of balance. Ends medium-long with a fine liquorice note.

Château Beychevelle
Château Beychevelle

Château Beychevelle is a fourth classified grand cru (classification of Medoc wines of 1855) of the Saint-Julien appellation. Located on the left bank of the Médoc, the vineyard includes 92 hectares of vines. The vines are around 30 years old and benefit from reasoned treatment. Château Beychevelle is a classic Saint-Julien: roundness, rich aromas, and power. The classic harmony of the greatest Médoc, which deserves much more than the fourth cru of the 1855 classification.

The best vintages of Beychevelle are undoubtedly 1982 and the vintage 1986. The wines of 1989, 2000 and grands crus of 2005 are equally exceptional. Finally, Château Beychevelle has also produced great vintages such as 2009, 2010 and the 2015 vintage.
