Château Caillou

Château Caillou is a Bordeaux wine estate that exclusively produces sweet white wines. The Château and vineyard are located in the commune of Barsac. The vineyard covers nearly 13 hectares in a single plot. The name of the château comes from its subsoil, which consists of a clay-limestone plateau covered with red sand harboring slabs and rocks, thus giving the wine great finesse. Château Caillou is classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru Classé) of Sauternes in the official 1855 classification.

Among the finest achievements, we recommend Château Caillou 1929, Caillou 1959, Château Caillou 1967, as well as the 1979 and 1989 vintages.
