Dark, glossy ruby. Definitely needs air, as the first impression is marked by herbal-spicy and animal notes. In the decanter, the wine develops superbly. The animal aromatics give way to a rich, dark-berry fruit, the structure on the palate is silky and very smooth, the tannin framework is fine-grained, the acidity juicy. A classic southern French wine that demands attention and then rewards it richly.
