Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Smoke, cherry blossom, truffle and dark cherry aromas open the perfume. There is a good level of richness, minerality, depth of flavor, freshness and color that’s present from start to finish. Give this a few years and it should show better. From 100% Merlot, the wine was produced from yields of only 8 hectoliters per hectare. The wine reached 13.7% alcohol with a pH of 3.35 and is aging in 100% new French oak. 92-94

Falstaff April - 2014

Deep dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, opaque core, delicate watery rim. Subtle notes of spices, fine wood and licorice, black cherries, attractive smoky nuances. Juicy, red berry, delicate sweetness, lively acidity, full of finesse, salty aftertaste, delicate chocolatey nuances in the finish, delicate style, good potential.

Vertdevin April - 2014

A rather indulgent and fruity wine. The nose presents notes of cherry, small dark fruits (blackberry in particular) combined with notes of sweet spices (vanilla in particular) and a hint of oak. Freshness, good structure and slightly creamy on the palate. There are notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry accompanied lightly by spices. The tannins are well managed. The finish takes on notes of fruit and spices.

Plump, bright and floral. Lots packed in here, surrounded by pleasant grainy tannin. Moderate length but super purity and good ageing potential for the medium term.

Ruby red; compact, extract-rich, intense fruit notes, dense, lots of astringent tannin, lots of wood too, but also some substance. Still seeking its balance somewhat.

Wine Spectator March - 2016

This sports exotic singed wood, spice and cocoa aromas followed by a hefty core of boysenberry and blackberry confiture flavors. There's ample brambly grip on the long, spice-infused finish. Exhibits good gusto, but there's also a seriously impressive core of pure fruit buried here. Best from 2018 through 2028
