Jancis Robinson November - 2014
Jancis Robinson
Very glamorous nose – rich and glossy and chock full of fruit. Very sweet and rich with massive power and corsetry and drive. Not at all marked by oak! Reminds me a little of the Leroy style.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru was showing some reduction on the nose that was difficult to shake off, though there appears to be sufficient fruit underneath. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a more conservative Clos de Bèze in some ways, but it demonstrates impressive precision as it fans out with gusto towards the finish. Give this 5-6 years in bottle to address the reduction issue and then I believe this will turn into an exemplary Grand Cru.

Jeannie Cho Lee November - 2014
Jeannie Cho Lee
Refined and gentle with delicate ripe strawberries and cherries with a fine line of acidity and refined tannins. Gorgeous, gentle power. Wait at least 7-plus years before approaching.

Domaine Armand Rousseau
Domaine Armand Rousseau

Domaine Armand Rousseau was founded at the beginning of the 20th century by Armand Rousseau. The estate comprises over 15 hectares of vineyards, including 8.5 hectares of Grand Crus and 3.8 hectares of Premier Crus, cultivated using sustainable farming practices. The vineyard soils are limestone and clay-limestone.

Domaine Armand Rousseau produces six emblematic Burgundy Grand Crus: Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Ruchottes-Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin, and Clos de la Roche.

The wine aging process is done in 100% new oak barrels for Chambertin-Clos de Bèze. Clos Saint Jacques is aged in 70% to 100% new oak barrels depending on the vintage. All other Grand Crus are aged in one-wine barrels. The barrels come from Allier forests and are medium-toasted. The aging period lasts 20 months, during which two rackings are performed. Bottling generally takes place in April after a light plate filtration to preserve the delicate fruit of Pinot Noir. The bottling is done by gravity, directly from the barrels after blending.

The wines from Domaine Armand Rousseau are long-aging: 15 years for the Premier Crus and 20 years for the Grand Crus.
