One of the great values of the vintage considering its outstanding quality. Fresh aromas of mint and ripe fruit follow through on the palate. Full-bodied and quite tannic.

Bright crimson. Thick and sweet on the nose. The tannins are a little severe – the four-square 1988 spirit! I can't see this wine ever being truly succulent, but then it might surprise just like the 1975. My suggested drinking dates give it the benefit of the doubt.

Chateau Sociando-Mallet Cru Bourgeois Haut-Medoc wine from the Gironde. Chateau Sociando-Mallet is a wine prized by lovers of fine wines, as evidenced by its annual sales success in futures. The wine of Jean Gautreau is a great forgotten the 1855 classification. Because it is not formally part of the nobility of the Crus of the Medoc - even as it competes more than one. - Chateau Sociando-Mallet must remain prudent in its price level.
