This has consistently been an outstanding wine, revealing a dark ruby/purple/garnet color with a large-scaled nose of smoked meats, cedar, spices, and earthy black fruits. Full-bodied, moderately tannic, fleshy and intense, this wine has reached full maturity where it should remain for another decade. It is one of the sleepers of the vintage.
