Jancis Robinson February - 2026
Jancis Robinson
Tasted blind. Dark crimson. Very cassis nose, almost smells like a Pauillac! Very classical and rich but not sweet. Lots packed in there. Masses of tannin but I think the fruit concentration will see it out. Neat. But not long.

Here is a wine that keeps getting better with each tasting. Concentrated, lush, deep, fresh, ripe, dense, sweet, long, and rich, there is a beautiful, mineralistic quality to the fruit that shines through today. There is opulence, freshness, energy, and character in this wine that frankly, sells for a song. Drink from 2025-2045.

Extract-rich, certainly, but without rusticity, dense, juicy, long, with first-class, firm tannin, built for long aging, very true to style.

Falstaff June - 2017
Falstaff
Deep dark ruby-garnet, opaque core, subtle rim brightening, blackberry-mineral-infused bouquet, delicate noble wood note, fine cassis in the background. Complex, juicy, dark cherry fruit, present tannins, spicy finish, subtle hint of dark chocolate on the back palate, possesses aging potential.

Adrian van Velsen - vvWine
(En Primeur) Very wood-forward nose, still marked by aging, distinctly dark cherry fruit, blackcurrants, smoke, very good complexity. On the palate starting firm, the tannins are finely polished, the acidity pronounced, red fruit aromas take over, medium body, precise, characterful, elegant, this is a delight, juicy and crisp. The finish is of very good length, ending remarkably fresh. A class act from Meyney. 2025-2045+. 18.5 vvPunkte (92/100)

Jean-Marc Quarin May - 2023
Jean-Marc Quarin
Dark, intense colour. Very aromatic nose, with fresh fruitiness. Smoky touch and undergrowth. Delicate on entry, with flavour developing in the mid-palate, the wine unfolds in a melting, long-bodied, juicy and fragrant manner. It builds in the finish on fine tannins. Long and sappy persistence. Very good indeed. Blend: 33% cabernet sauvignon, 49% merlot, 13% petit verdot. Alcohol: 14°31 - pH 3.66. Average yield: 46 l/ha.
