Falstaff February - 2020
Falstaff
Dark ruby-garnet, violet reflections, subtle lightening at the rim. Intense cassis nuances, black forest berry preserve, delicate nougat, an inviting, multifaceted bouquet. Juicy, sweet and silky, fine tannins, ripe cherries, subtle fig notes, elegant and lingering, already very approachable, with a secure potential for further ageing.

Adrian van Velsen - vvWine
On the nose, a superfine fragrance, noble, naturally still restrained, but so delicate, deep, very floral, feminine, simply stunning. On the palate, top concentration, round, almost opulent yet enormously well-balanced, fantastic tannin quality, very beautiful balance of fruit and structure, everything is in its place. Long finish, with enormous reserves. A very positive surprise. 2023-2040+, 19.5 points (97/100)

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
The color is just starting to barely lighten. On the nose you find smoke, tobacco, cedar wood, forest floor and ripe, deep red fruits. Full-bodied, lush and silky, the wine is sweet, opulent, rich and polished, with a hit of dark chocolate, espresso, mint and dark red fruits, with perfectly polished tannins in the finish. This is starting to enter the fun stage of life, but if you can wait another 5 years or so, the oak will better integrate and you'll have a better wine in your glass. 95 Points

Tasted blind. Mid crimson. Just the right side of volatile but very winning and opulent. More 2009 than Margaux. A little dry and chewy for the moment. Massive volume and finish.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Served blind at the Southwold 2009 tasting. The Malescot-St-Exupery '09 is unruly at first, but it settles down nicely to become a well behaved pupil: boysenberry, lifted cassis and violet aromas all very clean and well defined, the oak subtly enmeshed. The palate is medium-bodied with a succulent entry. Lovely ripe, filigree tannins and a lovely elegant caressing finish make this an excellent Margaux. Tasted January 2013.

Château Malescot Saint Exupery

Château Malescot St. Exupery is a 45-hectare wine estate with 30 ha of vines, located in Margaux in the Gironde region. In the AOC Margaux, it is classified as a third growth in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification.

The grape varieties consist of: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. The grapes are hand-harvested and vinification lasts 4 to 6 weeks, favoring long maceration periods. The wines are aged for 16 months in new oak barrels. The wines are fined with egg whites and unfiltered.
