(09-2007)
(05-2004) Quite a deep garnet core. A surprisingly sweet, fragrant almost floral nose with notes of backed cherries and tar. The palate has sharp acidity, very fresh, well-knit with simple black fruits. Not a complex wine, but a testament to how well balanced, rather than powerful wines can age. Raisins on the finish. This will not improve so drink now. Impressive for a 1970. Tasted May 2004.
(05-1993) Medium ruby-garnet; fragrant, tarry, ripe, toasty nose; firm, fruity, fairly plump and stylish.
