Very sweet flavours with dried fruits, sweet spices and dried jasmine. Lovely aromatics and silky palate texture. At its peak, this wine is offering a lot of drinking pleasure at the moment.

Sour cherry, wet earth and plummy fruits with acidity still holding this together. Negligible tannins and agree with the review below about being akin to a grand cru burg.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The deep ruby-colored 1990 offers up abundant aromas of sweet new oak, ripe berry fruit, and floral scents. In the mouth, this stylish, medium-weight, beautifully proportioned wine has excellent concentration, decent acidity, moderate tannins, and a considerable sense of elegance and richness. It is the finest La Gaffeliere since the 1970 and 1947.
