Deliciously rich and full-bodied, but rather one-dimensional. Has earth, berry and truffle aromas, ripe fruit flavors, firm tannins and a velvety, round mouthfeel.
Very forthcoming, attractive, fully developped. Extraordinary flavour.
One of the top successes of the vintage, the 1976 Figeac was consistently impressive in tastings. A big, deep, cedary, ripe fruity bouquet shows good complexity. On the palate, this lush, rich, full-bodied wine avoids the soupy softness and diluted character of many wines produced in 1976. Round, concentrated, generous, and fully mature, this was a lovely wine from the 1976 vintage.
