Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Tasted at the Château Figeac vertical at the property. The 1966 Figeac is a brilliant Saint Emilion that must rank as one of the best Right Banks of the vintage that is more reputed for its Left Bank wines. Deep in color, it has a magnificent, majestic bouquet that knocks you out: very perfumed and floral with a hint of peppermint developing with time. It is actually quite exotic for the normally conservative 1966 vintage. The palate is beautifully balanced and refined, here quite Left Bank in style with a fine line of acidity, filigree tannin and an effortless finish that will leave a Cheshire cat grin on your face. Pristine bottles such as this should be sought without hesitation. Tasted June 2015.

Château Figeac
Château Figeac

Château Figeac is a Bordeaux wine estate located in the commune of Saint Emilion. Premier Grand Cru Classé of the official Saint-Emilion classification, it is one of the most influential châteaux of the appellation. The Château also produces a second wine: La Grange Neuve de Figeac.

Château Figeac wines have excellent aging potential.

The finest achievements are the 1961 vintage, 1982, the 1985 wines, grand crus from 1986. More recent Château Figeac vintages show more power, roundness and fruity notes, the 2000 vintage, the 2005 wines and 2009 are spectacular.
