This wine from Alexandre de Lur Saluces shows exemplary balance. It is crisply poised, bringing together plenty of rich fruit and honey along with intense acidity. The wine is developing quickly and will be ready to drink from 2020.

Super wine here, made in a such a nice style, with all the ripe, very ripe and overripe pineapple, apricot and orange peel you can eat, as long it's all soaked in honey, and vanilla. The racy finish, with its mesh of sweetness, cut with acidity is just what you need.

Vertdevin April - 2016
Vertdevin
The nose is fruity, fine, elegant and aromatic. It reveals notes of fruits in syrup, mirabelle plum and yellow peach combined with delicate notes of lemon as well as hints of honey, ginger and a discreet touch of botrytis. The palate is fruity, indulgent, elegant and offers minerality, a lovely acidic structure, beautiful balance, smoothness and tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of candied fruits, peaches in syrup and candied citrus fruits (lemon, clementine, a touch of quince) combined with delicate touches of pineapple, a hint of candied yuzu, granny smith apple as well as fine notes of spices. Good length.

A charming, sweet wine with intense botrytis flavors along with dried mango and pineapple. There is great energy and crisp acidity in this wine with a fairly long finish. Impressive.

Round and gorgeous. Pretty smart even though there is a little bit of heat on the end. Fresh and glorious.

Château de Fargues
Château de Fargues has belonged to the same family for over half a millennium! It was in 1472 that this estate entered the Lur Saluces family heritage. Château de Fargues, like the great Sauternes, can be aged for several decades. Lovers of candied notes will need to wait a good twenty years before taking the wines out of their cellar. Raised by the Lur Saluces family, like Château d'Yquem, this Sauternes reflects the rigor, passion, and talent of great winemakers. The vines spread over about fifteen hectares of gravelly ridges on a clay-gravel subsoil. Grape varieties: 80% Sémillon, 20% Sauvignon. Best years: 1945, 1947, 1949, 1955, 1959, 1962, 1967, 1971, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1995, 1996.
