Château D'Armailhac
Château D'Armailhac

In the 17th century, the Armailhacq brothers owned plots in Pauillac. It was in the 18th century that their descendants decided to plant vines there. Several d'Armailhacq family members, whose spelling changed regularly, subsequently succeeded one another at the head of Château d'Armailhac.

In 1855, the château was classified as a fifth growth in the 1855 Médoc Classification, under the name of Château Mouton d'Armailhacq. It was also during this period that Count Ferrand became the owner of the estate and created the limited company of Domaine de Mouton d'Armailhacq. In 1989, Château d'Armailhac took the name by which it is known today, Château d'Armailhac. The label features a small Bacchus, paying tribute to the vine. The 50 hectares of the estate, located between Châteaux Pontet-Canet and Mouton Rothschild, house in their outbuildings the technical and agricultural facilities necessary for the wine of Château d'Armailhac and that of Mouton Rothschild.
