The estate also produces a second wine Marquis de Calon Segur and a cru bourgeois, Capbern Gasqueton. The best vintages of Château Calon-Ségur are 1982, 1988, the 1995 vintage as well as the 1996 wines and the 2000 vintage. Finally, the 2003, 2005 vintages, 2009, 2010 and 2014 wines are excellent.
(01-1998) This soft, medium-bodied wine exhibits a dark ruby color, easy-going berry, herb, and earth flavors, low acidity, and a round, nicely-textured finish.
(03-1995) Bright red color, with dark undertones. Nose. : Ethyl 4 Phenol (horse sweat) but this vintage is less marked than other wines from the property. Very fruity behind with a note of herbal tea. Soft attack developing on a slightly runny, very fruity structure, which evolves caressingly, on a medium body, towards a finish with already melted tanicity, full of charm and aromas. Good palatable persistence. A note of class in this tannic grain.
