Jean-Marc Quarin September - 2009
Jean-Marc Quarin
Dark red color, medium intensity. Moderately aromatic nose, showing the beginnings of an aging bouquet. Cedar notes, but also alcohol and metal. These last two aromas emerge more upon swirling. Tender palate, quite lively yet caressing where fruit nuances and creamy sensations mingle. Finely tannic finish, but above all aromatic and it is this quality of aromas that gives interest to this wine.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
A dense rubypurple color is accompanied by an attractive bouquet of lead pencil, graphite, black currants, raspberries, and spice. Medium-bodied, with beautifully knit flavors revealing excellent definition, this subtle, restrained yet persuasive 1998 displays a distinctive style.

(2009) Some earthy, spicy, and lightly raisiny aromas follow through to a medium body, with a good core of fruit and a silky finish. Enjoy.

Château Branaire Ducru
Château Branaire Ducru

Château Branaire Ducru is a fourth growth classified (official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification) from the Saint-Julien appellation in Médoc. The vineyard covers nearly 60 hectares of vines. Château Branaire-Ducru is now one of the jewels of Saint Julien. It is highly sought after for its very pure red fruit. Its typical composition, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, opens with bright aromas of raspberry and blackberry, before becoming more complex on the palate with delicate nuances of mineral, pencil lead, smoke and spring flowers... The Château also produces a second wine: Duluc de Branaire Ducru.

The best vintages of Château Branaire Ducru are 1975, 1982 grand cru wines, 1989, the 1995 vintage and the 1996 vintage. The wines from 2000, 2001, 2003 vintage and 2005 are also exceptional. Finally, the grand crus from 2009, 2010 vintage and the 2015 vintage are great vintages.
