First tasted in cask, April 1980: virtually opaque; good fruit, sweaty tannins; stylish even at that stage. Developed well. Still fairly deep; rich, cedary nose; full-bodied for Beychevelle, fleshy and tannic.

Beychevelle

Château Beychevelle is a fourth classified grand cru (classification of Medoc wines of 1855) of the Saint-Julien appellation. Located on the left bank of the Médoc, the vineyard includes 92 hectares of vines. The vines are around 30 years old and benefit from reasoned treatment. Château Beychevelle is a classic Saint-Julien: roundness, rich aromas, and power. The classic harmony of the greatest Médoc, which deserves much more than the fourth cru of the 1855 classification.

The best vintages of Beychevelle are undoubtedly 1982 and the vintage 1986. The wines of 1989, 2000 and grands crus of 2005 are equally exceptional. Finally, Château Beychevelle has also produced great vintages such as 2009, 2010 and the 2015 vintage.
