Riesling Appellation
Riesling is an iconic white grape variety originating from the Rhine Valley in Germany. Known for its great aromatic finesse, it produces elegant wines, often with beautiful acidity and remarkable aging potential. The Riesling appellation is also very present in Alsace, where it benefits from particularly favorable soil and climate.
Wines made from Riesling can be dry, semi-dry or sweet, depending on the winemaking methods and grape ripeness. They typically reveal aromas of lemon, green apple, white flowers, and even petroleum with age – a characteristic typical of this grape variety. The Dirler-Cadé estate, in Bergholtz, Alsace, cultivates Riesling biodynamically on great terroirs and produces wines of great purity, true to the Alsatian style.
