Appellation Chambertin Grand Cru

Chambertin is a controlled designation of origin (AOC) produced in the Chambertin climate in Gevrey-Chambertin in the Burgundy region. The origin of Chambertin comes from a peasant named Bertin, who planted his vines on a plot next to Clos de Bèze. After the death of this peasant, the plot will remain called “Champ de Bertin”.

The Chambertin appellation benefits from a temperate climate with a slight continental tendency. It is one of the 9 Grands Crus of the Côte de Nuits and covers nearly 14.1 hectares of vineyard. Among the estates that produce wine under the Chambertin appellation, we find the Dugat-Py estate, the Trapet Père et Fils estate and the Maison Leroy. The wines of the Chambertin appellation are very cellaring.

The best vintages in Chambertin Grand Cru is : 1928, 1929, 1934, 1937, 1945, 1947, 1949, 1952, 1953, 1959, 1961, 1962, 1964, 1966, 1969, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1989, 1990, 1996, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2009.
