Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Tasted at the Chateau Suduiraut vertical in Zurich. A deep amber hue. The nose is very intense and complex with quince, orange peel, petrol and beeswax with outstanding definition and sense of bravura. The palate is full-bodied with a mellifluous entry, stunning balance and sense of tension with touches of mandarin, grapefruit and passion fruit. Fabulous clarity and bewilderingly long in the mouth on the finish. This is an outstanding bottle, within a whisker of the one poured at the property in 2009. Tasted November 2010.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Copper hued, the wine offers its honeyed pineapple, apricot, caramel, creme brulee, molasses and marzipan charms as soon as the wine hits your glass. Sweet and racy, with a beautiful apricot, caramel and butterscotch palate presence, the wine miraculously holds on to its sweetness and vibrant lift.

Most recently : orange-amber; perhaps with auto-suggested orange blossom bouquet and flavour. Sweet, fat, concentrated. A wine of considerable power, good length. When tasted blind alongside the Yquem and Climens, most of the tasters rated this even better than the Yquem. Both magnificent.

Château Suduiraut
Château Suduiraut

Château Suduiraut is a Bordeaux wine estate of 200 hectares, including 92 hectares of vineyards in the commune of Preignac on a soil composed mainly of sandy-clay gravel, which produces a sweet white wine. Classified as a Premier Cru of Sauternes, it is considered by many as one of the best Sauternes.

The wines of Château Suduiraut are among the greatest Sauternes. Their longevity is exceptional. As they age, the aromas of candied fruits slowly take over the citrus notes found in the early years. The estate recommends decanting old vintages to enhance the fragrances. The Château also produces a second wine: Castelnau de Suduiraut.
