Seems a little touch dank at first aromatically, a touch rancio, but the lemony and marmalade-rich fruit is there and a light smokiness. Like many of these older Sauternes it comes good on the palate: lovely round fruity concentration, tightly wound and intense, the fresh edge of acidity set against powerfully concentrated flavours of fruit and botrytis. Saffron and marmalade speak of this entering a really pronounced tertiary stage. 125g/l residual sugar.

Château Suduiraut

Château Suduiraut is a Bordeaux wine estate of 200 hectares, including 92 hectares of vineyards in the commune of Preignac on a soil composed mainly of sandy-clay gravel, which produces a sweet white wine. Classified as a Premier Cru of Sauternes, it is considered by many as one of the best Sauternes.

The wines of Château Suduiraut are among the greatest Sauternes. Their longevity is exceptional. As they age, the aromas of candied fruits slowly take over the citrus notes found in the early years. The estate recommends decanting old vintages to enhance the fragrances. The Château also produces a second wine: Castelnau de Suduiraut.
