Jean-Marc Quarin October - 2015
Jean-Marc Quarin
Not decanted. Logo on the cork: an A in a circle. Dark color, medium intensity and evolved. Intense nose, fruity, ripe, smoky and vanilla. Airy and smooth palate, developing very fruity, juicy, with a silky touch and fine grain. Nice persistence. Wine full of delicacy and perfume. Impossible to spit out!

A soft Palmer that is elegant, perfumed and ready to enjoy now. The texture is silky and bottled. Aged flavors of leather, dried mushroom and spices come through on the palate. Should keep well for the next 6 to 8 years.

Tom Cannavan January - 1998

Very deep purple colour. Quite tight, but straightforward black fruits then a more interesting, higher, flowery note developing. Really quite luscious palate with minty, eucalyptus, blackcurrant fruit and spice. Great thwack of tannin really powers through in the finish which is quite difficult at present. Could be excellent.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Bottled in July, 1997, this wine includes an extremely high percentage of Merlot (about 43%). It is a gloriously opulent, low acid, fleshy Palmer that will be attractive early and keep well. Dark ruby/purple-colored, with smoky, toasty new oak intertwined with gobs of jammy cherry fruit, and floral and chocolate nuances, this medium to full-bodied, plump yet elegant wine is impressive.

Jancis Robinson February - 2011

51% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc. Bottle deposit. Brownish ruby. Much broader and more seductive than the 1996. Much more life and suppleness and concentration. This is good stuff. Real stuffing here and richness. Lovely breadth and this seems to have quite a future even if it is capable of giving huge pleasure already. Proves how important Merlot is to Palmer.

Château Palmer
Château Palmer

Château Palmer is a wine estate located in Gironde. In the Margaux AOC, it is classified as a third growth in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification.

Château Palmer, a grand cru, is a matter of origin in both time and space. The style of Château Palmer, anchored in history and dedicated to expressing its terroir, transcends fashions and trends. To experience its timelessness, there is no better way than to taste it.

The wines of Château Palmer reveal a bouquet of extraordinary complexity where fruits, flowers and spices mingle, wrapped in a fleshy and generous structure. This subtle balance between aromatic richness and tannin power, always restrained, makes it a wine of incomparable charm from its youngest age. Its persistence leaves an intoxicating memory of mixed sensations and emotions.

The best vintages of Château Palmer are 1962, 1971, 1975, 1985, 1989, 1995, 1996, 2004, 2011...
