Information on the vintage 1969 red Burgundy:
I think it took a little time to realise that this was by far the finest of the unusually good trio: '69, '70, '71, and I suspect that claret lovers, only too aware of the scraggy and tart red Bordeaux, half-dismissed the '69 burgundies, though it happens to be the excellent acidity which made, and has sustained these wines. Happily, I have tasted some delicious '69s fairly early.
