Jean-Marc Quarin February - 2000
Jean-Marc Quarin
Dark red. Good intensity. Still young! Clean. Medium intensity. Smoky. Fruity. Fresh. Animal notes. Farmyard. Las Cases. Clean and supple attack, developing on a fresh and full but airy structure, evolving on a powerful, licorice and fresh taste, towards a firm and coated finish. Long complex and quite nuanced finish. Very beautiful fine wine, young and powerful. Las Cases. Less in aromas than others!

A very dark, spicy, warm and powerful wine. Concentrated and very rich, it offers an extremely long finish. It could have waited, but it is perfect for drinking.

Likely fully grown, here you'll find a nose filled with tobacco, cigar box, green leafy herbs, cedar, smoke and currants galore. Full-bodied, regal, yet slightly rustic, with layers of fruit, spices, herbs and tobacco leaves, this is classic Left Bank Bordeaux at its best.

Medium ruby, slightly lightened rim. The nose is expressive, complex, warm and ripe in character, dark berries, also menthol, mint, ethereal notes, licorice, above that floral scents, has almost Californian touches, very complex. The palate is fleshy, accessible, flattering, with creamy texture and a beautiful mix of fruit, still some tannin and a well-integrated acidity, this has pressure and a very beautiful spice on the long finish, ends a touch warm. An extremely harmonious wine, currently at its peak of enjoyment, with reserves.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
One of the most drinkable, complex, and tasty 1982s of the northern Medoc, this wine is beginning to reach its plateau of full maturity. Still a dense rubypurple color with some lightening at the edge, it offers up classic aromas of cedar wood, fruitcake, tobacco leaf, and creme de cassis. This full-bodied, opulent, fleshy, sexy Pauillac can be drunk now with great pleasure and complexity, or cellared for another 10-15 years. .

This vintage was a modern benchmark for the estate. Intense aromas and flavors of berry, currant, mint and light toasty oak. Full, round and refined, with a long, long finish. Gorgeous. Drinking beautifully.

A beautiful wine that was minty fresh, fragrant, sweet and gorgeous. I ended up writing 'gorgeous' twice and 'beautiful' once, I see from my handwritten notes.

Château Lynch Bages
Château Lynch Bages

Château Lynch-Bages is one of the great names of the Pauillac appellation, classified as a Fifth Grand Cru Classé in 1855. Located on the historic plateau of Bages, in the heart of the Médoc, this wine has embodied for several generations the controlled power and qualitative consistency that make the reputation of great Bordeaux wines.

The history of Château Lynch-Bages begins in the 18th century with the Lynch family, of Irish origin, before the property was acquired in the 20th century by the Cazes family. Since the acquisition by Jean-Charles Cazes in 1939, then under the impetus of Jean-Michel Cazes and today Jean-Charles Cazes, the estate has continuously strengthened its identity and international reputation. This family continuity is a central element of Château Lynch-Bages' uniqueness.

The vineyard sits on deep Garonne gravel, ideally drained, an emblematic terroir of Pauillac, particularly favorable to Cabernet Sauvignon, the predominant grape variety in the blend. It gives birth to structured, refined wines built for aging, combining aromatic intensity, tannic precision and finesse.

Vintages such as Château Lynch-Bages 1982, Château Lynch-Bages 1995, Château Lynch-Bages 2000, Château Lynch-Bages 1989, Château Lynch-Bages 2009 or Château Lynch-Bages 2010 illustrate the remarkable consistency of the estate and its essential status among the collectible wines of Pauillac.
