Wine Spectator
(2007) This is an example of how the 1959 vintage was more generous in style than the 1961. Rich and sweet, with loads of ripe fruit and velvety tannins. Full, round and beautiful. Gorgeous and ripe.

(3-2015) Straight from the château's own cellars and on the way down but pretty thrilling. Blackish ruby still. This must have looked like port initially. There was some clear volatility on the nose but the palate was still rich and exciting, even if a bit dusty rather than fresh on the finish.

Château Lynch Bages
Château Lynch Bages

Château Lynch-Bages produces Fifth Growth Médoc wines according to the 1855 classification and a second wine called Echo de Lynch-Bages which is not classified. Under the Pauillac appellation, Château Lynch-Bages vineyard extends over more than 1,200 hectares.

Château Lynch-Bages wine follows the line of great Pauillacs. Composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, it combines structure and finesse, elegance and longevity. It also stands out for its opulence. Generous from its youth, it evolves in its maturity towards more flavors and complexity. The style of Château Lynch-Bages wines refines over the years, gaining in suppleness and smoothness, while the consistency of the wines establishes over time.

To this day, Château Lynch-Bages is characterized by its extraordinary qualitative homogeneity. Powerful, refined and open, vintage after vintage the wine acquires greater precision, combining distinction with the hedonistic character that forms its personality.
