CHÂTEAU LASCOMBES 1981

Tasting notes : Combining power and elegance, softness and tannins, Château Lascombes is a wine of great complexity. In its youth, its depth of color never fails to impress. The finesse and softness in the mouth are complemented by elegant and fine tannins. Château Lascombes must be appreciated in its aging over the years to fully appreciate its aromatic complexity and the development of its structure, which is always more suave in the bottle.

Grape variety / Blend : Merlot (~50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (~45%), Petit Verdot (~5%) (variations are possible from one vintage to another)

Maturity : Old wine

Food and Wine Pairing : Beef and venison

Typical Margaux. Soft, aromatic, sweet, with a hint of walnut. A mature 1980s Bordeaux with low alcohol but plenty of flavor. Great drinkability, great elegance! This wine will age until at least 2026. Very charming!

Château Lascombes
Château Lascombes

Château Lascombes is a wine estate located in Margaux, Gironde. In the Médoc AOC, it is classified as a Second Growth in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification.

The 50 hectares of Château Lascombes vineyard (55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot) benefit from deep gravel terroirs. Every year, Château Lascombes estate practices green harvesting to improve the quality of the wines, achieving greater concentration. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with malolactic fermentation of Merlots in barrels. The wine is aged for 18 months in 60% new oak barrels, followed by egg white fining.
